18th meeting

Summary of meeting:Survey Analysis and survey data collation for cross-referencing
Date:4/12/08
Venue:School Library
Presence:Whole Team

Other then continuing with the surveys tabulation, it is especially impressionable of the cooperation and hard work shared among the team as it was tedious tabulating the survey data for cross referencing.

Taking for example, the profile of the surveyees(which includes age, gender and frequency of attending events) were used to cross reference with several questions which we will have to do one by one using the Excel sheet. However, the team was not only willing to but also efficient in resolving this supposedly frustrating and mundane work.

Last but not least, I felt the most important virtue is that even in times when there were disagreements;given that it is strictly speaking my first time working with Nison and Sham as we have never been in the same class, there was a surprising amount of understanding towards the fact that the final 'quality' of work churned out is still the most important which enabled discussions to be more openly voiced out and equally accepted- an aspect in project work which I had previously anticipated to be a problem but apparently was not.

17th Meeting

Summary of meeting:Progression check with Advisor. Confirm direction of survey analysis
Date:27/11/08
Venue:E65Q
Presence:Whole Team

Met up with the advisor and we discussed some of the challenges faced. One of them includes cross-referencing our tabulations. Also, Chronos gave us some examples in which the analysis can have a better angler. After this meeting, the deadline seems to be even nearer and..should I say, scarier. However, this sense of urgency may just do us good.

15th meeting

Summary of meeting:Compile each of our improvised literature review and collating of survey results
Date:22/11/08
Venue:Singapore Management University
Presence:Whole Team

This meeting was an extension from where we left off last meeting.

Having now finazlied our report skeleton, we 'filled up' several previous 'gaps' in research by improvising our previous literature reviews and compiled them . We had also carried on with the avalanche of survey tabulation and the choice of the meeting venue at SMU where there was a strict restriction on the use of the internet was a way to keep our time solely on the tabulation as well.

14th meeting

Summary of meeting:Collate survey results and complete report skeleton
Date:19/11/08
Venue:School Library
Presence:Whole Team

Having sense the urgency to complete our report on time in less then a month's time, the team settled down to tabulate the survey results to ensure we have sufficient time to cross reference and analyze useful and probably even 'surprising' results.

At the same time, there were also several changes made to the report skeleton which was submitted to our advisor and returned with remarks. They are mainly;

  1. Changing the hypothesis we had. Previously, our hypothesis consists of 3 main objectives in which we hope to acheive through this project. However, we improvised it to 3 similar but less objective 'theories' which we hope that through this report we can by the end of it either support or overthrow such statements.
  2. Addition of a new section to explain and elaborate why we chose to align our focus of 'green events' based on the 3 main concepts of paperless, organice food and waste management.
  3. Addition of several literature review topics as after rearranging the report flow once more, we found certain 'gaps' .

Remarks: Having previously compiled and came up with the report skeleton for last semester's FYP, and the fact that it is already our 14th meeting into this already familiarised topic, it was much easier to ensure the final report format has a consistent and logical flow of information and sequence. Having separated the research findings and report sections, I was tasked to complete the green efforts by the local government level and waste in events' pre, during and post stages.
